Saturday, August 18, 2018, 7-9pm. North Portland Yoga, Portland, OR

A very special night at North Portland Yoga! Allison Riegel will lead us through a deeply nourishing sequence of long-held Yin poses, as Kady Monroe serenades us with entrancing, luscious sounds of seven Crystal Singing Bowls. This experience is an invitation to enter into your own essence, deeply connect with your body through ethereal sound vibration; to release, soften, unwind, envision and meditate. Yin yoga is often compared to acupuncture and self massage in its capacity to move stuck energy through the body. Prepare to potentially let go of unhelpful blockages and stored tension as we enter into the realm of Being rather than doing.

Allison Riegel is an artist, yoga therapist, and somatic practitioner with a passion for connecting psyche and body. Her classes and personal therapeutic work, Body Ceremony, encourage the exploration of deep listening, slowness, and fluid expression of movement. She has most recently been interested in how dreams and their guidance relate to body practices.

Kady Monroe is a fairy spirit with magic hair- a playful spirit and loving heart! She is a lifetime artist, mover, and musician who teaches preschool and also Yin and Restorative yoga. In addition to sound baths, her current fascination is offering 1:1 *sound ceremony* in which she braids together healing sounds and loving touch.

Saturdays, 10:30 am-12 pm and Sundays, 1-2:30 pm at Modern Macramé, Portland, OR.

Enjoy a warming all-levels hatha yoga class surrounded by plants and natural fibers in the beautiful loft studio of Modern Macramé. The studio is the production home of longtime Portland artist, Emily Katz. Nestled among studios of other local artists and craftsmen, the Modern Macramé space is cozy and calm, with high ceilings, huge windows and lots of natural light. The class is open to all ranges of yoga experience, beginners welcome. My background is in hatha yoga and yoga therapy, and my approach to teaching is inclusive of all different body types, honoring the body's innate wisdom. Feel free to read more about my work at bodyceremony.com. At the end of class, we will enjoy a cup of tea by a local artisan tea company, T Project and you will have time to look more closely at the macrame artwork. There are many other exceptional shops, artist spaces and restaurants close to the studio, which you can choose to explore after our yoga class. I am happy to point you in the right direction!
