Truth or Consequences, New Mexico

Join Fawn and Allison Riegel on the threshold of harvest season for an autumnal adventure retreat in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.

Mineral baths have long been associated with longevity and health. Explore the liminal space between seasons, your conscious and unconscious mind, celebration and stillness.

The rhythm of our days will be slow as we soak, bask, and repeat. An explorative and reflective weekend, days and nights will be spacious and flexible to honor each individual's experience. We will engage in movement improvisation, gentle yoga, journaling and creative ritual. Surrounded by nature's grandeur in the vast desert landscape, our time will be infused with deep connection to self and spirit. We will be here for the new moon, the perfect time for star gazing and turning inward. Bathe in the last fires of summer, and transition into the ethereal. One nourishing, communal meal prepared by holistic chef Allison will be shared alongside luxurious siestas, group classes, and lots of free time to explore the bathhouses.

My work combines yoga therapy, holistic cooking, and creative practice as interrelated healing modalities. I encourage slowness, inviting inner and outer spaciousness and the cultivation of fertile ground for transformation. Birth of creative energy - and its unbridled flow - emanates from a sensual relationship to our body landscapes. Connection to the earthly body permeates my life and powerfully guides my work. I am a certified Yoga Therapist, Artist and Chef based in Portland, Oregon. I’ve studied Yoga Therapy with Sarahjoy Marsh at Portland's DAYA Foundation, Hatha Yoga with Saul David Raye in Ojai, CA, Plant Spirit Medicine, Magic and Ritual in San Francisco and Portland, and earned a BFA in Art and Design at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

4-7 pm

Where do our rituals of yoga and eating intersect? How do we embrace the same awareness we invoke on our yoga mats while we consume our food? How is our journey of inner healing affected by the way we take food into our bodies? Please join us for an evening yoga practice followed by a nourishing meal shared in community. We will have the sweet opportunity to extend and integrate our practice of yoga into the yoga of eating our dinner together with mindfulness and reverence. This lovingly prepared dinner will be vegetarian, including seasonal, organic vegetables and whole grains. Allison is a holistic chef and invites the process of cooking to unfold as a creative language. She selects ingredients with energetic vibrance and infuses her meals with love and intention. Cost is $50 (due to the nature of food preparation, we request pre-registration for this event in order to attend). Register here.

Feet in socks, feet on the floor, feet carrying your body, toes in the sand. Hands playing instruments, hands cooking food, hands lifting objects, fingers combing hair. These divine darlings of our body are our support system and our greatest tools. We will spend two hours honoring these often-neglected parts of ourselves with a sense of exploration and reverence. We will nurture our hands and feet through intuitive myofascial release and self-massage, and explore their significance in asana. Using the breath as our guide and our own presence as Healer, our hands and feet will receive loving energy and physical relief + nourishment. This workshop will offer a spacious container in which we may deepen our relationships to these sacred parts of the human body vessel. Cost is $30 in advance or $35 at the desk. Register here.
